Questions to ask a wedding band before you book

Before you book any band, ask who exactly will play on your date, what is included (sound, lighting, a DJ), how the setlist is chosen, what they need from the venue, and what the contract and deposit cover. A good band answers all of these plainly and in writing.

Is the line-up we hear in the videos the line-up that plays our wedding?
Can we see a recent live video, not just a studio recording?
Are sound, lighting and a DJ included, or extra?
How is the setlist chosen, and can we add must-plays and do-not-plays?
How long are the sets, and what happens between them?
What do you need from the venue: space, power, access and set-up time?
Do you travel to our venue, and is travel included?
What does the contract cover, and what is the deposit?

As early as you can. Popular dates, especially in peak wedding season and December, book out months in advance.
